               - Points System from previous season–Using the Points System posted on the Region 7 website, we will re-assign points to each athlete, with the highest points earner earning 10 points, down to the 10th athlete earning 1 point, based on points total from last season.
               - POINTS CHECK: It is the responsibility of each athlete’s coach to DOUBLE-CHECK total points earned last season!  NO CHANGES will be made to the Points System from the previous season once Winter Camp has started at 2:00pm Saturday, December 16th, 2023.
       2. R7 Winter Camp performance
               - R7 Winter Camp Performance – Athletes will perform routines as TWO HALVES, or a FULL SET and will be judged based on ETC criteria (Junior FIG rules). Based on their all-around ranking at camp, athletes will be assigned points based on their all-around scores:
               - 1st place receiving 10 pts., 2nd place receiving 9 pts., 3rd place receiving 8 pts. … down to 1 point for the 10th place finisher.

       - TEAM 1—This team will be composed of the 6 named Elite Team Cup members.
       - TEAM 2—This team will be composed of the TWO(2) named ETC alternates PLUS the NEXT FOUR(4) (7th-10th) Level 10 combined point earners.
SENIOR CUP @ BBI
       - TEAM - The TOP SIX(6) Level 9 athletes in rank order from the combined Points System will be invited to compete at the Senior Cup team @ BBI.
ELITE TEAM CUP (ETC) SELECTION - We understand it's early in the season, but in order to accommodate the logistics of traveling and naming the official USAG Region 7 team designation to Kentucky, competition videos will not generally be considered this year.
NOTE: Junior National Team members will receive an automatic invite to ETC.  R7 has 2 athletes on JNT this year, therefore TEN(10 )Level 10 athletes will be chosen using the method below:

The top FOUR (4) point earners from the previous season's points combined with points earned from the Winter camp will be invited to participate in the Elite Team Cup in February.
The next TWO (2) highest combined point earners (5th & 6th) will be named as ETC ALTERNATES.

SPECIAL NOTES REGARDING SELECTION:

-Athletes who competed at 2023 US CHAMPIONSHIPS will be given special consideration due to a shorter ‘off-season’.
-The Selection Committee will be made up of Regional Chairman Bob Lundy, ETC Head Coach Mike Onuska, and ETC Assistant Coach Roger Pinho.
-The Selection Committee holds the right to award UP TO THREE(3) ADDITIONAL POINTS, with no more than ONE(1) point to any one athlete, in order to account for uncharacteristic Winter Camp performance.
-PETITIONED ATHLETES:  We have 3 petitioned athletes who will be attending camp.  These athletes will receive DOUBLE their points from Winter Camp performance, to account for lack of points due to injury last season.
-Athletes named to both the ETC and the Team Cups @ BBI will be announced via email and posted on R7 website no later than 10:00pm on Saturday December 23rd.
